You will have exceptional knowledge of Housing Benefit legislation, you will have assessed all manner of claims particularly complex claims. This role involved the line management of approx 5-8 Benefit Assessment Officers, demonstrable Team Management experience therefore is essential. You will be an expert user of the Northgate system and you will have used a mainstream DIPS system. Having worked on Benefit Appeals would be an advantage but not essential. A Local Authority based in the East Midlands has a requirement for an experienced Development Control Officer. The role requires you to manage your own of caseload of minor to major planning applications, conducting site visits, and presenting details and recommendations on a wide range of planning applications to Council Committees and other public meetings. You will need to have an excellent understanding of the UK town planning system with at least 3 years of UK Planning experience. You must have your own car or access to car as the role requires you to go on site visits which are not accessible by public transport. An RTPI accredited candidate with Green Belt experience would be favoured, however this is not an essential requirement. The successful applicant will have good communication skills as well as a strong desire to further yourself within the development control planning sector
